Adriatica Ionica Race’s organizing team, ASD Sportunion, is already at work for the 2021 edition. “We will unveil the first novelties soon, it’s going to be a unique race”, OC President Moreno Argentin said
Adriatica Ionica Race, the stage race shaped by former World Champion Moreno Argentin,
rides at full speed toward the 2021 edition, after the 2020 race’s cancellation due to the pandemic emergency.
The organizers already achieved their first goal on Friday, September 25th, when the 2021 UCI international calendar was released. The AIRace will be held from June 14th to 18th, a week before the Tour de France’s ‘Grand Depart’.
After receiving significant appreciation by fans and riders in the first two editions (2018 and 2019), the race will again take place over 5 days, proposing an original mix of different technical scenarios: from the Adriatic Sea to the Venetian Dolomites, from the gravel roads to the Flemish-style ‘walls’.
Creating connections between peoples and territories, promoting tourism and the local historical heritage will once again be the mantra of the event, to consolidate the collaboration between the territories of the Ionian-Adriatic Euroregion.
“We are working with great motivation – Moreno Argentin explained. – We will unveil the first novelties soon, for sure it will be a unique race. A testing dress rehearsal ahead of the most important cycling event in the World, the Tour de France”.
It is not by chance that Adriatica Ionica Race’s first two editions have consecrated the talent of rising stars such as Belgian golden boy Remco Evenepoel, Colombian prospects Alvaro Hodeg and Ivan Ramiro Sosa, in addition to the 2019 winner, Ukrainian Mark Padun.
